For me, video is part of music. I do not see a border between the two. Sound and image are both signals that unfold in time, and I compose them with the same attention to rhythm, texture, density, and form. An image can be layered, stretched, interrupted and repeated, just like a sound. Often both are created in the moment. Sound and image grow side by side in a single act of improvisation, and each listens and responds to the other. In my work, the screen is not a canvas but another instrument.
