Sounds migrate, and so do instruments and people.
The santur has travelled across Asia and into Europe for centuries, finding a new voice in every place. My own journey with it, from Mashhad to Berlin, is one chapter of that longer story. On that way, among my belongings, came the question of belonging.
Every passage leaves a memory in what we hear. As a sonic thinker and artist, I listen for that memory, question what it carries, and give those questions form in installation, performance, and writing, with electronics, images, and space.
What does listening tell us about who we are, where we belong, and what remains when no one answers?
